Family Services
- Are you looking for fun, inexpensive things to do with your child and/or family?
- Do you need assistance getting connected to WIC, food stamps or other supports?
- Are you looking for information on child development or how to get your child ready for school?
- Do you need assistance with registering for Kindergarten?
We’re here to help!
Boston is a big city. We want to take the guess work out of finding what you need. Staff is available in your community to assist you with questions, concerns or needs that might arise related to early childhood care, education or family support services. ALL ARE WELCOME to call or stop by our offices for services. A child does not need to be formally enrolled in a particular program for families to access these free resources.
What does Boston Community Partnerships for Children do for families?
- Provide referrals to information and services like quality child care; housing assistance; developmental, vision and dental screenings and more!
- Promote the importance of early literacy through literacy nights, Read to Your Child Campaigns and the Parent Child Home Program. Over 2,000 families have participated in and benefited from these programs.
- Read to your child campaign – parents commit to read to their child every night while keeping record of the books they complete.
- Parent-Child Home Program – a home visitor comes twice a week to share reading and play activities that build a child’s vocabulary and the family’s love of reading. To find out how to participate in the Parent-Child Home Program, contact Lydia Brown at lbrown@familynurturing.org.
- Provide families with linkages to support services such as developmental screenings, WIC, early intervention, fuel assistance, and much more; this year alone, we have assisted over 6,000 families.
- Host Family Fun Nights around the city. Parents can come with their children to participate in fun activities that are close to home.
- Provide family education workshops that build on a family’s strengths and encourage social connections. Over 1,000 families have attended our community-based workshops.
